Teen Leadership Coordinator, Dena Schimming, along with student council, will host homecoming activities during the ‘Fifth Quarter’ after the Varsity football game on Friday Oct. 14th, from 10:30 p.m. to midnight. Students will meet at Legacy’s football field for late night snacks, games, concerts and drinks for only $5 per student. Concessions will be available for purchase.
“It definitely has potential to be awesome,” Mrs. Schimming said. “It is now in the hands of the students whether or not they decide to come. We [StuCo] provide the fun. They just need to come enjoy it.”
Mrs. Schimming called to a former guest artist to help entertain the students, before he starts his new record deal. Nick McCord, who performed for us at Pink Fest 2010, will revisit us again, before he leaves for his Hard Rock Cafe tour.
“We wanted to give the students an opportunity to do something social other than a school dance,” Schimming said.
Students, such as Senior Class President Elizabeth Kobty, feel that it is a fun alternative to a school dance, and gives students an opportunity to go somewhere to socialize without worrying what to do for entertainment.
“This is more casual so you don’t have to have a date, just go with the girls.” Kobty said.
Kobty hopes for a large turn out of students, including football players returning to Legacy on buses; she thinks fans will come to enjoy the festivities as well.
“We [student council] just want a big turn out, if everyone went, it would be fun,” Kobty said.

Curious who wrote such a noteworthy article? Thought that the hardworking, dedicated person who put the time & effort into this should recieve recognition, like every other article that has been publicized in the Rider. We enjoy reading the Rider and keeping up with current events at Legacy High School. Keep up the great work!
