Clarke Rahrig

Senior Clarke Rahrig, standing 6’ 6” on stage, took his Jolly Green Giant pose, and gazed into the darkness while hearing Mission Improvable fans screaming and applauding. Thoughts were rushing through his head, hoping he can make the audience laugh.

Rahrig, one of five new improvers, sacrifices other extracurricular activities for the improv experience. After three years of basketball, he seeks for something different.

“I wanted a change to something more fulfilling,” Rahrig said. “Being able to participate in something I got so much joy from made me feel amazing.”

Having gone to every improv show last year, Rahrig was encouraged to join by third year troupe member senior Gregory Uribe.

“With all the people I know, I think Clarke without a doubt is one of the funniest people I’ve met in my school career,” Uribe said. “I’m happy that he made Mission Improvable a little bit funnier.”

Improv’s not the only extracurricular program Rahrig is involved in. He is the NHS president, math and science UIL academic competitor, and Key Club member. Although he’s taking on a full plate, Rahrig has an optimistic outlook on all his activities.

“I’m trying to have an action packed, but fun year,” Rahrig said. “I just want to be able to do all the things I enjoy, even if it is a heavy work load.”
