Mrs. Roberts has openings for UIL Computer Applications. She recommends the participants have knowledge of Excel and Access. Students who have taken BCIS have learned all the content on the tests.
“Two of my students that went to regionals are back,” Mrs. Roberts said. “I’d really like to go to state again.”
Mrs. Roberts takes three students to every competition. If more than three are interested in going, a practice test determines the contestants who go.
“The practice test isn’t that hard,” senior Jerica Albus said. “It’s a lot like what you get in competitions, but it’s harder than the ones you get in the beginning. I felt prepared after taking it.”
