The Invisible Children Club has shirts for sale supporting their club and raising money to send to Uganda in an effort to help with the various needs of the community. Poverty and war have affected over 70% of the northern population in Uganda.
“We feel like there are a lot of problems going on over there and we just want to help them with the problems they are in,” Saltzman said.
The shirts for sell read “Invisible Children” on the front, and “Hope for the Hopeless” in Swahili on the back. Even though English has been accepted as the official language of Uganda, as of 2000, 2,330 people continue to speak it. Orders for these shirts go in on Monday.
“Our goal is to raise money and awareness for the Invisible Children,” Saltzman said.
The shirts are not the only things they are doing to raise money. They are having a book drive in the future to help them with their goal.
