7 Things To Do: September 2015

With a new school year also comes a new set of responsibilities and potentially a whole lot of stress. Take a break from the busyness of homework and projects to go to a concert or another fun event. Check out this list for a preview of what September has to offer in terms of local entertainment.

Passion Pit

This group’s unique sound and upbeat songs like  Take A Walk and Moth’s Wings have gotten them the most attention, but their new album “Kindred” will be the focus on this tour. Passion Pit’s lead singer Michael Angelakos has a tremendous amount of talent that will surely make you want to get on your feet. Dallas Chocolate Festival

If chocolate makes you happy, join local chocolate makers and fellow enthusiasts for the sixth annual Dallas Chocolate Festival on September 12. Not only will you be able to sample exquisite chocolate from local and international chocolatiers, classes and demonstrations will occur throughout the day for you to attend. The Neighborhood

On September 17, this band will be playing at the South Side Ballroom. Songs like “Let It Go” and the well-known Sweater Weather appear on The Neighbourhood’s set list, as well as performances from Bad Suns and Hunny as openers. To get tickets, click here.

Balloon Fest

For a day full of concerts, skydivers, rides and hot air balloons, attend the Plano Balloon Fest September 18 through 20. This year, some special balloons will include a flying pig named Pigasus, a kitten-shaped balloon and more. For tickets and more information, click here.

The Great Texas Food Truck Rally

More than 20 food trucks will be parked in front of Reunion Tower on September 19 for the second annual Food Truck Rally. For $10, experience live music and a great selection of food. For tickets, click here.

Nick Jonas

Not a part of the boy band scene anymore, this Jonas Brother has suddenly become a prominent artist with his new self-titled album. Songs like “Jealous” and “Chains” have been hit singles and will be performed at the House of Blues on September 23. To get tickets, click here.

State Fair of Texas
