“What makes video games fun is knowing that everything will not impact my life, it is just my entertainment,” junior Bernardo Cervantes said. “It is just a way to calm down and relax and just forget about school and homework.”
Controversy involving systems always finds itself among the talk of the gamers. The Xbox 360, PC, PS3, and Wii remain in constant battle for the gamer’s time and money.
“I prefer the Xbox 360. The PS3 has good single-player games, but you can’t play a single-player game for longer than a few weeks before you beat it,” junior Josh Highland said.” Many 360 games come with a multi-player side, and most PS3 games that have multi-player are also for Xbox 360.”
Gamers have different reasons for playing video games. Some like them just for the thrill, others prefer them for their artistic value.
“It serves as a distraction from school and a great outlet when you’re angry,” sophomore Greg Kinzer said. “It is fun [to play] with friends and it is something to do when you’re at home doing nothing.”
The video game itself doesn’t always keep the attention of the gamer. The technology and its uses make the gamer want to play.
“I love technology always and forever,” senior Ashley Lenz said. “There are more new things every day and it is fun to mess around with them.”
