After the “Twisters” film in 1996, producers Frank Marshall, and Patrick Crowley wanted to introduce the new generation to storm and tornado chasing. Filmed in Oklahoma, “Twisters” follows the life of tornado enthusiast, Kate Carter, who chased tornadoes in high school until a traumatic storm killed her best friends. Years later, after moving to New York City, Kate happens to be approached by the only surviving member of her friend group who convinces her to get back into chasing tornadoes. Once back in Oklahoma, she meets a YouTube star who brings a wild side to tornado chasing. Tyler Owens, also known as the “Tornado Wrangler,” convinces Kate to join his side of the storm instead of the money-hungry company she works for.
The wildly popular actors such as Glen Powell draw people to the theater. He plays an easy-going and adventurous viral YouTube tornado chaser in “Twisters.” Glen Powell’s role in the film production happened to be a crowd-pleaser for many teens and adults internationally. The energy Powell puts into his character sets the scene for the emotions and all the action happening around him and his co-stars in the movie. His character, Tyler Owens, shows a good heart to help Kate reach her dreams and overcome her fears of tornadoes. When I saw this movie, I came off very impressed with how Glen Powell brought his character to life throughout the film.
The music playlist for “Twisters” greatly impacts the movie by expressing the film’s emotions and the filming location in Oklahoma. The song “Ain’t No Love In Oklahoma” by Luke Combs expresses the excitement and the dangers of chasing a tornado storm. The music knits together the action of the movie and the feelings brought on by the movie. “Feeling Country” by Thomas Rhett describes the country feeling of Tyler Owens the “Tornado Wrangler” as the rodeo storm chaser. When I first heard this song in the movie, I thought it turned out amazing. I love the way the music makes me feel intrigued and keeps me on the edge of my seat. The music moves this movie to not just good but great.
The thrill of Glen Powell’s character running into a tornado will have you completely hooked into the moment. He runs toward tornadoes with no fear for his life. He stays very enthusiastic about his job and remains willing to face a tornado head-on for entertainment or to help victims in a local town. The action and the burst of emotion of driving straight into the tornado and having a very unique way of showing off to his YouTube followers by sending fireworks into the tornado.
Overall, this movie comes out to be full of suspense, adventure, and excitement. This movie develops a way to becoming a huge hit film. I would recommend this movie to see with family and friends.
