“My favorite part of Halloween is definitely seeing all the costumes. There’s some really cool costumes I see each year. Every year, I go over to my grandparents’ house and watch some sports, and then eat a jack o’-lantern-shaped pizza.”
Jailynn Smith-Williams, 9
“[The best part of Halloween is] wearing scary costumes. Go over to my God Mom’s house, and we have a candy hunt around her house. I get a pizza and a Slurpee from 7-11, then I go to trick or treat. I like to watch all the Michael Myers movies on Halloween night. It’s just a very classic movie, and I like the horror of it.”
Jeremiah Rutledge, 9
“Candy. Gig at people’s houses. Dressing up. Random people. Candy corn is underrated.”
Austin Zielke, 9
“Scary movies are amazing. I usually don’t go out [for Halloween], so I just watch a scary movie with my family.”
Reese Broyles, 9
“Halloween is so fun, I love going to church and helping the kids during fall fest.”
Josiah Fuller, 10
“I like getting to dress up and make my own costumes. [I also like] trick or treating with my sister. I don’t give the candy out, I’ll just take it.”
Izabelle Guerra, 11
“I either go trick or treating, or me and my mom will watch scary movies and eat a bunch of candy. I always eat a lot of candy, and I always dress up.”
Isabella Avalos, 11
“I really like dressing up. I think having group costumes or even solo costumes and pretending to be someone else for a day is really fun. Sometimes I go around my neighborhood trick or treating and other times, I just prefer to give out candy, so I stay home and watch scary movies. I love Halloween.”
Avrie Melby, 11
“Halloween has so many traditions, but my favorite is carving pumpkins. Even though some people outgrew trick or treating, I still love carving a good pumpkin. I also love decorating for Halloween with my family.”
Ayslyn Arredondo, 12
“I love to pass out the candy for kids trick or treating, seeing all the cute costumes and just seeing all the people having fun. I celebrate Halloween with my family. I spend the day watching movies, typically like Hocus Pocus and Halloweentown High with my mom. Sometimes we have coordinating costumes. Every year, we watch Hocus Pocus and Nightmare Before Christmas as a symbolic change between Halloween and Christmas.”
Alexander Molina, 12
“I’d say my favorite part of Halloween is probably spending time with family, watching movies and baking stuff. Me and my family sit down in the living room to watch scary movies, and then we’ll pass out candy sometimes to trick or treaters.”
Grayson Prellwitz, 12
“Halloween is so fun, you are able to dress up and can be anyone you want to be. Getting candy is always fun and there are so many different activities you can do that differ from other holidays.”
Cade Pickrell, 12
“I love Halloween because it is the one day in the year you get to dress up and become something you truly are not. Horror movies are also some of my favorites, and watching them during the Halloween season truly sets the mood. Not just that though, the decor, orange and purple lights, candy and so much more is what fully ties the love of Halloween for me.”
