With Labor Day being the first holiday students get off during the school year, there are plenty of opportunities to get up and find something exciting to do. Check out some of the few things you can do during the Labor Day Weekend:
Run a 5k
Running happens to be not only one of the easiest ways to get back in shape but also a nice way to start off your day. There are also lots of races to participate in during Labor Day weekend. When joining the Fort Worth Runners Club, you can attend their 5k race in downtown Fort Worth for $8 and $12 for non-members on Sept. 1 at 7:00 a.m.
Have a cookout
This happens to be one of the most common things to do during the long weekend. Cookouts bring family and friends together usually after the first week back to school. The city of Bedford, Texas hosts a BBQ festival every year that pairs blues music with delectable BBQ. The festival begins Sept.1 and runs through Sept. 3.
Watching a baseball game
When living in Texas, there’s nothing better than watching baseball on a summer night. Attending a baseball game happens to not only be exciting, but also a great way to support your home team. You can watch the Texas Rangers take on the Atlanta braves on Sept. 4 at 6:35 p.m.
Go to the Dallas Arboretum
The Pictureade Arboretum hosts a family event that includes live music, lawn games, local food trucks for all ages. The Dallas Arboretum will hold this event Sept. 2- Sept. 4 from 9:00-5:00 p.m.
Go to the zoo
DFW offers lots of activites to do during your free time. The zoo provides lots of entertainment not only for kids, but for the elderly and adults as well. Luckily DFW has two of the best zoos in Texas. The Dallas Zoo will be open from 9-5 p.m. Labor Day weekend and The Fort Worth Zoo from 10-5 P.M.
