In its fourth year, Book Club has began a new tradition. This Wednesday members of book club will dress up to promote reading.
“Each member of Book Club picks a favorite book and dresses up like a character from the book.” Book Club President Amanda Moore said. “I’m going to be Thing 1 from Dr.Seuss’s “Cat In The Hat” and Jordan Banfield is going to be Thing 2.”
Throughout the day, students and staff will try to guess what the members and a few English teachers dress up as.
Only book club members have permission to dress up. Each teacher will have a list of the members’ names so that they may identify those who choose to break the rules. Each costume was pre-approved by Book Club Sponsor Mrs. Sandra Villarreal.
In addition to dressing up, Book Club will have a Halloween party at their meeting from 2:30 to3:45p.m. as they celebrate the finishing of “Pet Semetary” by Stephen King.
“It’s a way to promote Book Club and have fun for Halloween.” Moore said
