As Destinee Hardin, Kris Stroud, Krista LaPato, and Dena Schimming crowd around the computer, they try to come up with a list of movies for Legacy’s first movie night this Thursday.
“What about Halloween,” Stroud asked.
“I checked [on that],” Mrs. Schimming replied, “Its rated R.”
“That was rated R? Since when,” Stroud said.
“Since it came out,” Mrs. Schimming said.
Halloween set aside, the group perused a list of the top 50 horror movies as produced by the Google search of ‘scary movies.’ The movie night will coincide with Thursday’s Drugs are Scary Day. Ideas for movies were brought up and rejected, with experiences of watching them talked about as the movies showed up on the top 50 list.
“Oh guys! My family had a crop circle and there was an investigation. I didn’t watch Signs until after that,” Mrs. Schimming said, barely stopping for a breath.
As a more family friendly movie, Hocus Pocus will start at six. After a brief intermission the second movie will start. Tickets cost $3 for one movie and $5 for both. Popcorn, hot chocolate, and other concessions will be available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs and blankets for seating in the cafeteria.
The second movie is chosen by the survey below. Mrs. Schimming and the Student Council plan to have a movie night as a fundraiser once a month.
