Next week students will begin returning iPads based upon grade. They will be taken up during designated classes. Teachers have been advised to plan their activities without school iPads.
This process will be facilitated by the members of the technology department. They will ensure the returned iPads match the students’ ID numbers. If they match, they will take the iPad and charger, and will ensure there is no damage to the case or to the Ipad.
“If everything checks out well, then you’re in the clear,” Principal Des Stewart said.
The charges for a damaged iPad can range from $49 to $532. Students who have lost or damaged their cases and chargers will be required to pay fines as well. Seniors that fail to pay their fines will not be allowed to participate in graduation. Students that withdrew from Legacy and did not return their iPads will have the police coming to their homes to take the Mansfield ISD iPads.
Students with their iPads stolen will be held responsible and face the appropriate fines. Mr. Stewart has noticed many iPads laying around the cafeteria that can easily be stolen by mischievous students.
“If there is one message to send to our students is now is really the time to know the whereabouts of your iPads at all times,” Stewart said.
