Practicing rigorously every day after school, the Wind Symphony prepares for their upcoming concert with the UTA band. The Wind Symphony will be performing with the UTA band March 3 at the Mansfield Center for the Performing Arts.
“There’s more pressure on us than ever before,” junior Audrey Snow said, “[even] more than marching season and concert season put together.”
There is a lot of pressure as they are held at high standards. It’s a great honor and few bands are accepted to play in the 2014 Music For All National Festival.
“We’ve been practicing since the beginning of school in August,” junior Jessica Copeland said.
Wind Symphony has been practicing mornings and afternoons for this upcoming concert. They will have a preview show of what’s to come March 1 at Willie Pig Auditorium. Along with these concerts, they will be performing with the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band on Feb. 10.
“We are much farther along than I thought,” Fugett said. “I’m very pleased with their progress.”
