A new dress code policy recently made waves around the Mansfield school district. However the strict changes applied to Mansfield High only, pleasing many students. Students have until May 9, 2015 to make proper adjustments. The 2015 prom invites seniors and their dates to the Omni Hotel in Fort Worth for what should be a safe night of excitement, starting at 7 p.m.
The alleged new rules sparked controversy among students that had already purchased their expensive prom attire. Some prom attendees, wearing dresses costing as much as $500, would be denied entry at the door. Senior Delaney Toone hoped the new rules at Mansfield didn’t apply to Legacy as well.
“Whenever I saw the Mansfield dress code I was upset but then we released ours,” Toone said. “And it’s not bad.”
With prom approaching quickly, many students have been in a scramble to find the perfect dress for themselves.
“I’m looking forward to finding a dress that fits my style,” Toone said. “And of course the dress code too.”
