Legacy Legends, an annual “American Idol” based singing competition will take place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24 in the Performing Arts Center. The competitors will sing and then the audience will put money towards their favorite performance as a vote. The competition uses the funds to collect money for the choir. The winner from the previous year’s competition becomes ineligible to compete, but they perform several songs at the event. Junior Tony Denson won Legacy Legends last year.
“It was an extraordinary experience because it was my first year at Legacy,” Denson said. “And there were some talented singers I went up against.”
This year will be the first year for sophomore Pearce Weidmer to compete. After auditions, he has spent a week preparing.
“Auditions went well. I am really nervous,” Weidmer said. “But I think if I can get past that it will go well.”
