Administrators from all of Legacy’s feeder schools will hold a “Westside Picnic” for the community on April 19. Donna Shepard Intermediate, Linda Jobe Middle School and all elementary schools that feed to Legacy are welcomed and encouraged to attend the new tradition.
The event will be held at Legacy from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and will feature food trucks, games and a health fair. Additionally, there will be choir performances by the students of both Jobe and Shepard as well as all participating elementary schools.
Participating local vendors will also be in attendance, including Busho Kai USA, Aspire, The Lot and Camp Gladiator and more in the cafeteria.
“With this event, I hope to renew the spirit and pride of Legacy, starting with students in kindergarten,” Dr. Butler said.
Information sessions will be available for parents and will review topics such as STAAR testing and parent surveys in order to better prepare them and their children for their upcoming high school years.
“I want to involve the parents in their children’s schooling and prepare them for high school,” Dr. Butler said.
