After a year of working on dances for football games, competitions, and the Winter recital, the Silver Spurs will perform their spring show on Saturday, April 21 at 7 p.m. at The Center. This will be the final performance for the 11th line of Silver Spurs, bringing mixed feelings for senior Lindsey Blakely.
“It’s happy and sad because it’s the last show I have as a Silver Spur,” Blakely said. “I’ve been a part of this organization for three years, so it’s gonna be an adjustment.”
At the performance, the Silver Spurs will perform dances from throughout the year – from Football season to their last competition. Incoming members, the 12th line of Silver Spurs, will attend the performance to get a preview of the work they’ll have in the upcoming year. Sophomore Christine Holley feels ready to perform for them and to begin the next year as a member of the 12th line.
“It’s bittersweet because it’s the last time 11th line will dance with each other,” Holley said. “But it’s exciting because we will get to go into a new year with new people.”
The performance is open to everyone who wishes to attend. To Holley, the final performance stands as a chance to show off the high achievements of the Silver Spurs and the perfect opportunity for the 11th line of Silver Spurs to end the season well.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to see really fun dances,” Holley said. “We’ve done them through the whole year, so it’s a perfect recap of the whole season.”
