MISD students have prepped and auditioned to open for actress and singer Kristin Chenoweth. The Center is one of the many stops on Chenoweth’s tour, “Places! The Kristin Chenoweth Experience.” Chenoweth will perform Nov. 2 at 8 p.m. The cost of tickets ranges from $60 to $80.
Sophomore Theater Representative Annali Hollinger rehearsed her audition pieces for a month and a half before audition day along with many other MISD students.
“I wanted this opportunity more than anything,” Hollinger said. “I just remember praying so much before just hoping to perform with [Chenoweth].”
Students cast in the performance will participate in the opening number and/or finale. They have rehearsed every Friday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the occasional Saturday morning since September. Junior Theater Representative Abby Ewing will perform in the final two songs.
“Being cast in this performance really shows me that I am good at what I do,” Ewing said. “I can’t believe that I was chosen for this great opportunity. It’s a real honor and privilege.”
