The crowd cheers. The basketballs fly, The teachers battle the students., Key Club hosts the Toys for Tots pep rally on Thursday, Nov. 21 in the main gym.
Students who want to attend must pay $3 as an entrance fee. The money raised will be used to purchase toys for Toys for Tots.
“I’m most excited to see the pep rally really happen and see all the hard work we have put in come to fruition and be proud of the pep rally,” Ms. Marion said.
Ms. Marion, Key Club sponsor, believes this year’s pep rally will be even more electric than the last two years.
“We have some announcers this year that I think the students will like,” Ms. Marion said. “If you enjoyed last year’s pep rally, you are really going to enjoy it this year.”
At the pep rally, there will be a student vs. teacher basketball game. During halftime, there will be a performance designed by junior Lieutenant Emma Beaudine and other Silver Spurs.
“The halftime show has gotten bigger and better,” Ms. Marion said.
Beaudine choreographed the dance that will be executed by a mix of guys from football, Key Club and other groups.
“There is going to be a lot of body shaking,” Beaudine said. “It is going to be a sight to see.”
If you consider buying a ticket and going, you should. The money will bring joy to disadvantaged kids across the world, and it will be worth your time.
“It’s a great cause, and it ultimately is a good reason to get out of class and not have to sit in your room,” Marion said.
