The girl next door is more than meets the eye. Kenzie Cowan is closely nit with her family and a musician to boot. She is more than another girl; she is Kenzie.

Musician:
“I play in the band here at Legacy. I have been playing the trumpet for about four years, since sixth grade. I have always loved music. I thought it was pretty cool, seeing people moving their fingers like that and how cool the whole band sounded together.”

Religious:
“I’m a Christian. I go to church on Sundays and my church is basically a Christian Rock kind of music and I love that kind of music. I try to volunteer at my church when I can. I know if it will really help someone then I will.”

Socialite:
“At first I am really shy and I can be really quiet, but then if they make me laugh then I will just go up and talk to them and we will become pretty good friends. My brother is one of my best friends because he is always by my side and I have a lot of band friends because I spend so much time with them.”

Family:
“I only have one sibling–my brother, Landon. Between me, my mom, and my brother we are very close, because in 2005 my dad had a stroke which made him lose all his speech and so now that has brought us closer. Now we have a much better relationship than we would have had. He can talk now but he talks slower than everyone else because he has to process it.”
