Senior Brenden Glynn loved walking throughout the hallways in his nerd day attire. After turning the corner, he was greeted with the sight of his fellow nerds filing their way toward first period.
Nerd day, a traditional spirit day for Legacy, was the fourth of five spirit dress-up days during homecoming week and Glynn was glad to be a part of it.
“Nerd day was my favorite dress up day because it was funny to see how other people dress up as a nerd, and because I love to dress up as a nerd. I enjoy the dress up days because you get to see the other side of people that you usually wouldn’t,” Glynn said.
On Fridays, when not dressed up for the spirit day, Glynn represented the varsity football team by wearing his jersey.
“There’s a lot of love in football, and it really shows the family aspect of Legacy,“ Glynn said.
Glynn attended every pep-rally, giving encouragement to his teammates and receiving encouragement from teachers, students, and parents to play his hardest while on the field.
“The rivalry got everyone excited for the game and the signs that were put up really seemed to represent Mansfield High School. Especially the tanning signs,” Glynn said.
Along with playing wide receiver for the varsity football team, Glynn also stayed active on the Improv Troupe: Mission Improvable and on the track team.
“Improv has so much love. You can express yourself how you want to, and you get the pleasure of making peoples’ day and making others laugh,” Glynn said, “Even though track is an individual sport it still feels like one big family. Everyone is always there for you and cheering you on,” Glynn said.
Throughout his years at Legacy, Glynn built many different friendships and gained a new family in each of his extra curricular activities. He devoted his time and spirit to the school and showed the spirit of Legacy wherever he went.
“When I go to college, I’ll miss the family I have here at Legacy. People are so open and they actually take the time to get to know you. People actually like you for you,” Glynn said.
