With a 7-6 record, the girls’ basketball team looks for a win to continue their success against the Timberview wolves.
“[Our] record gives us the confidence to go in and win games against teams that may be tougher than us,” Senior Lauren Perry said. “We are starting the year off better then last year because of the variety of players we have.”
The girls’ basketball team started the season with a close win against Tribble Tech. Last year the Broncos scored a significant amount of points more than Tribble Tech so they entered their first game with confidence. The Broncos positioned themselves to win the game with their execution of free throws, rebounds and their ability to hold Tribble Tech to one and done.
“Since it was our first game it made us see what we needed to work on,” Perry said.
On Tuesday Nov. 23 the girls’ basketball team fell to Martin High School. With the score being 48-50, the Broncos lost by a mere few points.
“Sometimes we didn’t execute as good as we should have,” Senior Caroline Adesulu said. “There was a lot of pressure going into that game because we thought we needed to win.”
