With basketball underway and nerves already tightened, the basketball girls prepare to play.
Six years ago freshman Channa Parvin started playing basketball simply to try something new, but didn’t expect it to evolve into making the varsity roster as a freshman.
“I think the team is going to do really good this year,” Parvin said. “ The team has tons of talent and heart for the game.”
To get ready for high school Parvin played with a select team every summer all summer.
“Channa is a good athlete that I think deserves a varsity spot this year, even though she is a freshman,” Coach Tennison said.
The girls play Tuesday Nov. 13, in the Legacy Varsity gym. With a total of 16-15 record last year in district 5-A games the girls are looking to better that record this year in district 4-A.
“I think our girls are going to put a name out there for Legacy girls basketball this year,” Coach Tennison said.
