With new restaurant additions in Mansfield, sneaking off campus for lunch will become much more tempting. Five new restaurants open soon near Legacy.
Panera Bread
A city permit has been granted for a Panera Bread, a St. Louis food chain known for its’ soups, sandwiches, salads and baked goods, to be located beside IHOP. The franchise strives to be a symbol of warmth and welcome while remaining honest and genuine.
Jason’s Deli
A space has been cleared for a Jason’s Deli at U.S. 287 North in front of Lowe’s Home Improvement Store. The opening date has not yet been announced but should be expected to open near the end of fall 2014. The shop, opened in 1976, stands for “people, food, and choice.” Jason’s Deli was the first major restaurant chain to ban artificial trans fat in the U.S. and eliminate high fructose corn syrup in their food.
Golden Chick
Space has been cleared on Turner Warnell road for a new Golden Chick restaurant. The chicken franchise began in the 1960s when a former employee of a different chicken chain believed that “there had to be a better way to run a franchise system.” The restaurant, originally named Golden Fried Chicken, has not yet announced an opening date.
Dunkin’ Donuts
America runs on Dunkin’ and soon so will Mansfield. Dunkin’ Donuts will be located in a new shopping center that will soon develop in northeast Mansfield on the corner of Matlock Road and Debbie Lane. With a closer location, traffic on Cooper will be more easily avoided.
Firehouse Subs
Firehouse Subs; another business to be built in the new shopping center in northeast Mansfield. Founded in 1994 by two former firefighters, the franchise specializes in steamed meat and cheese sandwiches. With subs and community service they provide for local firefighters and police officers, Firehouse Subs is a “daily affirmation that serving good food and doing good, belong together.”
