Style and clothing choice can arguably be one of the most effective ways to express oneself and as a result, people often consider it to be one of the most influential choices of the day. Seniors Natisse Settle and Ananda Rincon started a club to bring together other students who feel the same way about fashion.
“I wanted to start it because I love fashion, and I know I’m not the only one here that loves fashion,” Settle said. “I see people around here that love [fashion], and I really wanted to bring some awareness to it for everybody.
Settle and Rincon met their sophomore year when they were both new students.
“I noticed she loved fashion, I love fashion,” Settle said. “That’s one big thing we have in common.”
Rincon acknowledges that getting to know fashion helped boost her confidence.
“I was miserable. I had no confidence,” Rincon said. “[Fashion] helped a lot with that. It’s a way to express myself.”
Another thing the girls have in common is where they get their inspiration from; music.
“I love Rihanna’s style,” Rincon said.
Their goals in the club, however, slightly differ. Rincon wants to change the social norm at Legacy while Settle wants to bring others together.
“Overall, I hoped to get all the students out here that love fashion, but feel like they’re the only one and stick out, and to bring us all together,” Settle said. F
