Q: Why do you play basketball?
A: I play basketball because I love the sport. I love that you can play with your best friends and form bonds with other girls.
Q: What positions do you play in basketball? What position do you wish you could play?
A: I play point guard, shooting guard, small forward and power forward, really every position but the center. I wish I could play center because you have to be really good to play at that position.
Q: What’s it like having your mother as the girls’ basketball coach?
A: It’s fun because most kids do not get to say that their parent coached them in high school basketball.
Q: Is Coach Morris harder on you because you’re her child?
A: No, she isn’t. She treats me the same way she would treat any other player on the basketball team.
Q: Any crazy experiences during practice?
A: Yes, my mom nearly kicked me out of practice one time. I had to run baseline to baseline for not boxing out, so I took my time and put a little effort into my running. After that, my mom wasn’t happy with me.
Q: Do you play any other sports? If so, why?
A: Besides basketball, I play volleyball and I love volleyball because I love to compete.
