I’m 16, and I’ve been to a total of 36 concerts. Throughout my concert experience, some have stuck out more than others for multiple reasons. So, in no particular order, these are my top six concerts I’ve ever been to.
AJR
I saw AJR at Dickies Arena on July 10, 2024, and I’m not even exaggerating, they have been one of the best in-person performers I’ve ever seen. The production quality of their sets is insane and so impressive. Even though their music isn’t as popular with Gen Z, the production quality was enough to make up for it which is saying a lot.
Hozier
I went to see Hozier on April 28, 2024 at the Dos Equis Pavillion with my friend Lexie Crisler. Hozier’s ability to address social issues all while singing and performing an entire concert is admirable. He is a very down-to-earth artist, and he’s absolutely one of my favorites. He also does a lot of crowd work which I appreciate because it makes the audience feel more connected.
Strumbellas
I have seen the Strumbellas twice in concert, and both times I was pretty much in the front row. Both times I was thoroughly impressed by their ability to raise the energy level of the crowd. They make the whole venue feel energized, and they include a lot of crowd work as well. The combination of those two aspects make them one of the more energetic concerts I’ve ever been to.
The Head and the Heart
I have also seen The Head and The Heart twice and both times were amazing. The first time I saw them, my mom and I were at a pretty big venue but it was still good. The second time I saw them we were in a much smaller venue and oh my goodness. It was so amazing. Their energy and music combined make for the most magical experience ever. Their lyrics hit a lot of people hard, and they know it, so instead of having a depressing concert with everyone crying they bring up the energy and make people feel happy instead. They are capable of flipping their whole audience to be filled with joy and it’s truly an amazing feeling.
Half•Alive
I’ve only seen Half•Alive once, but holy moly they are one of my top favorites. They bring out these two dancers, and while they sing they have around three people dancing along. It’s so cool to watch, and their concerts are definitely a very visual surrounded band. Their music is very hype, and they bring that energy with them on stage. I would see them over and over again because they’re just THAT good.
Briscoe
I have seen Briscoe four times now and every time I’ve loved it. They are so involved with their audience, and they are a very chill band. During their concerts they do this thing where they unplug their instruments and go into the middle of the crowd. They sing with the audience surrounding them and it’s such a cool thing to watch. They only look at each other and no one else while they sing, and it is such a connection and you watch them have this special moment. I’ve never felt so involved with a band besides Briscoe.
