As of right now, the football team should finish near the top of the new district having one of the best records last season and the return of some D1 players. Head Football Coach Chris Melson thinks the new district will be good for the team.
“I like the new district. We have great teams such as Highland Park, Timberview, and Lancaster. And we also have teams not as strong but will still have some great athletes,” Melson said. “So you don’t have to beat six great teams in get in the playoffs like our old district. So you might be able to slip in an off-game and still make the playoffs.”

Baseball has a reputation to uphold as one of the better teams in DFW. They finished the season going 21-7-1 and a shocking exit from the playoffs in the first round. Head Baseball Coach Chris McMullen believes that the new district compares to the one they’re in now.
“As far as next year goes, we are very familiar with these teams and have played most of them over the past 2 seasons,” McMullen said. “Everyone is going to give us a battle and our guys will have to come ready to go from the first pitch. Tough teams every week. It should make for some good baseball games.”

What I do like is it gives our kids a change, and sometimes change is good,” Mitchell said. “I think we are leaving the best basketball district in the state of texas, and going into one that is very good. “We are really excited to head back to the wild west in Region I,” Word said. “We will have to improve to push our run of district titles to 7 and work hard to even advance to regionals. I am confident that next year will be an outstanding year for Legacy Tennis. We will continue to have our sights set on becoming District Champs.”
