In acknowledgment of Veteran’s Day on Nov. 11, StuCo plans to host a luncheon on Friday, Nov. 8. Students are encouraged to bring their military family members to have lunch in the Legacy cafeteria. To sign up to attend, students can fill out this form, or scan the QR code in the downstairs offices and on the StuCo door.
“We want each and every veteran and family member of veterans, living or dead, to feel appreciated for their sacrifice in serving our country,” StuCo Sponsor Ms. Cavnar said.
Administration will provide food for the luncheon, and teachers and support staff will donate side dishes. StuCo will provide desserts and drinks.
Ms. Cavnar hopes this lunch shows Legacy’s significant focus on servicemen and their families and the sacrifices they make in their duty to the United States. To further honor the veterans, band and choir will each perform for about 10 minutes at the luncheon.
“It is important to know that the freedoms we have never been free and always due to brave men and women who put their lives on the line to protect and serve our interests here and abroad,” Ms. Cavnar said.
