Senior Jada Davis approached a big decision of continuing her soccer career in college. She believes it’s her biggest decision she’s ever made.
Senior Jada Davis spent her summer at soccer camps for local colleges. In late October, Davis committed to Prairie View A&M to further her academic and soccer career.
“I never thought I would be able to say I committed to a college,” Davis said. “I didn’t even see myself playing in college until this school year.”
In the last year, Davis focused on contacting different local colleges to invite them out to a few of her games. Prairie View A&M took an interest in Davis along with other local colleges.
“My club coach told me to start emailing college coaches to come out to our games. I emailed the soccer coach from Prairie View A&M to come out to a game and since then I’ve been in contact with her,” Davis said.
Davis practiced at a soccer camp with the Prairie View soccer team. She spent a weekend out in Prairie View, Texas to get a feel of what college soccer is like.
“I was invited out to a Prairie View soccer ID camp in the summer. I was there to showcase my knowledge and talent to the coaches and current players,” Davis said.
Davis spent her freshman, junior, and senior years playing under Zachary Hallak for Legacy High School. Hallak continues to be impressed by Davis’s skill and gameplay.
“Jada is a very hardworking and dedicated player,” Hallak said. “She comes to every practice and game prepared for anything that comes in her direction.”
