5 Shows That Shouldn’t Have Been Canceled

Famous in Love

The somewhat notable cast, with Bella Thorne in her first lead post-Disney role, gained attraction in its early episodes. The show follows Paige Townsend, a college student with secret aspirations to become an actress, as she grapples with her newfound fame. The show features the three key aspects of a binge-worthy drama: affairs, back-stabbing and murder.

Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists

This Pretty Little Liars sequel did not seem to meet the expectations of the original PLL fandom as its cancellation came soon after it aired. Although the cast executed their roles nearly perfectly, the show did not garner enough of a following. This show, similar to its prequel, built its plot on the basis of a disappearance soon discovered to be a murder. With actors like Sasha Pieterse brought back to play the infamous role of Alison DiLaurentis and Janel Parrish as Mona Vanderwaal, the show had the potential for more seasons.

Katy Keene

The Riverdale spinoff stars Lucy Hale as an aspiring fashion designer Katy Keene who deals with life, love and her career alongside Josie McCoy. Josie, Katy and Jorge all take on the Big Apple as roommates with big dreams and tiny bank accounts. The sentiment of ‘nothing good comes easy’ is echoed throughout the series. It showed young adults who are new to the workforce the extent that people will go in order to achieve their dreams.

Life Sentence

This series follows how a young adult, Stella Abbott, who spent her teenage years in a battle with cancer and figures out how to live after a full recovery. Life Sentence shows the importance of making the most of every moment. With many life lessons taught in this show, the audience could relate to the numerous hurdles the Abbott family needs to overcome. The biggest takeaway from this show- treat others how you wish to be treated. With more publicity, the show could have run longer and maybe won some awards.

Fox created a gem with this show. From the fandom to the real-life relationships the actors formed, Star will always remain on the minds of its audience (mainly because of its cliffhanger). The music, wardrobe, acting, and character choice make watching the show worth it. After three seasons and an abrupt cancellation, Star, Alex and Simone’s journey of becoming internationally famous pop stars came to an end with no closure for its fans.
