Senior Lazarus Ramos washes the front bumper of a customer’s car. His mobile detailing business focuses of meeting the customer where they are, prioritizing convenience and comfort.

About two years ago, senior Lazarus Ramos found himself with no money, no job and a passion for automobiles. Ramos saw one way to fix this: creating his own mobile car detailing business.

“I’ve always loved cars, especially trucks, and I hate it when I see an amazing truck that is covered in dirt or just hasn’t been taken care of,” Ramos said. “So when I was 16, I had to get some flow of money to me and I decided to do detailing”

Ramos’s business model requires him to travel to the customer for the details, placing customer comfort at the forefront. Right now, Ramos works alone with some help from senior Mohammed Habboush but eventually wants to own a detail shop and four mobile units.

“I want to work hard now and rest easy later, so that I can enjoy my life and still maintain my business,” Ramos said. “As of right now, the business is staying busy and I’m doing my best to book appointments and get customers.”

Although the need for extra money prompted him to start the business, Ramos’s love quickly expanded beyond a paycheck.

“I do mobile detailing to have the pleasure of experiencing different types of cars and vehicles,” Ramos said. “Meeting new people and seeing their reactions after is also always a great thing to see. Lastly, I have a passion for detailing. It’s not a job or hobby to me but something more.”

Ramos offers a variety of packages for customers ranging from interior and exterior exclusives to full vehicle details. In December, senior parent Darren Pedroza ordered the complete package from Ramos on his truck.

“Laz handles the whole process like a pro, I was impressed with the work he did,” Pedroza said. “He is meticulous. The interior clean look and the fragrance stood out to me as did his great work on tires. Overall, I would recommend Laz to anyone needing a detail. His prices are better than competitive.”

As Ramos continues to grow his business and clientele, he refuses to compromise on the quality of the job and the satisfaction of the customer.

“I think what sets me apart is that no matter what package you get or even if you don’t want much of your vehicle cleaned, I’m always going to give you a job that I am proud of,” Ramos said. “I’ll always make sure that the customer is always satisfied with the results.”
