My senior year is winding down now, and with that I must step down and a new News Editor must rise from the ashes and surpas my legacy. But who can accomplish this task? None other than Brett Walker. I have faith in you. I know not to expect the same aggression, nor any yelling from the editors’ office. But I do expect the same amount of slacking. I’ve seen your work, I know what you do in your free time in Microsoft Paint. I know the same music or loud animal noises will never again be heard through Mallett’s glass in his office and disturb him. You and Calyn will win a star award, and make the paper into what Patrick and I have made into worthless dribble. You will not procrastinate in any way, or else the ghost of The Rider Past, (which will be me), will come back and haunt you during deadline week. The Rider is moving on to a new phase, one of excellence and dignity, but do me a favor and torment the J-1 kids. I wish you the best, really.

Next year will be a long one indeed.
I can feel it in my calcium-rich bones.
Good or bad: I don’t know. But surely lacking in awkward conversations with intimidating superiors.
