Academic Decathlon visited the Amon Carter Thursday, Oct. 21, a Museum specializing in Western art. However the topic of the Academic Decathlon is the French Revolution this year, so they received the art in a power point presentation over the art of that period.
“It wasn’t what I expected,” senior Michael Baker said. “I thought that we were going to walk around the museum, but it was just a power point presentation.”
The power point showed them not only the art, but its context to history. The presentation explained the art and why the artist painted what they did. The field trip took place after school and lasted about two hours.
“It was great to get one unit of the text book out of the way in one day,” Mr. Austin said.
