Bronco players started running out on the field into the Friday night lights. While every player was hyped up by the cheers of the crowd, Jimmy was in his own zone preparing mentally and physically for the game ahead.
Senior Jimmy Morrow has played football since the 7th grade. He plays on the varsity football team as outside linebacker. His teammates along with his coaches believe he is a humble, hardworking person both on and off the field.
“Jimmy puts everyone else on the team before himself,” Senior Casey Dauzat said, “He’s always helping people out.”
Jimmy enjoys the contact of the sport and the fact that football is about working with your teammates in order to be successful. His passion for the sport shows through during every practice and game.
“He is everything you look for in a player,” Football Coach Barry said. “He’s unselfish, dedicated and a hard worker.”
From the command of his coaches, he was switched from middle linebacker to outside linebacker. Without complaints he did so and continued to listen to orders.
“I’m a role model, because I do everything Coach asks me to,” Jimmy said. “I give effort at every game.”
Most of Jimmy’s coaches and teammates see him as a quiet guy. Coach Barry believes he contributes a lot to the team as a player. Jimmy knows he has talent as well but chooses not to boast and to go on working hard for the game of football.
“He doesn’t brag about himself, that’s why everyone loves Jimmy,” Coach Barry said. “He’s like the expression, ‘still waters run deep.’”
