Nicole Kimble

Senior Nicole Kimble puts her passion on hold for her health.

Growing up Kimble cheered for many teams. Now her senior year and second time on varsity, she has to sit on the sidelines and watch because of her newly found heart and kidney conditions.

“It’s so hard to watch my friends cheer, and I just want to step in there and help them fire up our team and school,” Kimble said.

Kimble started cheering in third grade. She cheered for competition teams as well as for school. During her junior year Kimble discovered she had kidney stones which started her health problems. She was having severe pains one morning and a trip to the nurse led to a trip to the hospital and many days missed of school and now no cheering.

“Cheerleading is my life,” Kimble said, “its all I have ever known.”

Now Kimble’s life has been slowed down waiting on a heart monitor, so she can begin cheering again.  There are only two heart monitors in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, reasoning for such a long wait.

“I won’t give up hope,” Kimble said, “I will cheer at least one game before my senior year is over!”

Her love and her passion paused during her last year of cheering on the Bronco varsity squad, due to her health conditions.

“I missed all the “firsts” for senior year,” Kimble said, “summer cheer camp, pep rallies, and games.”

Nicole was told no more cheering by her doctor just weeks before cheer camp and now three months later she watches all her friends cheer on her high school team; she waits for the release from her doctor.

“My friends and family are what keeps me going and strong through all of this,” Kimble said.

After months of waiting Kimble was been released to cheer again just in time for her senior homecoming pep rally.

“The cheerleaders were so excited and showed they really cared when I came back,” Kimble, “it made me feel missed and happy.”
