Senior Staff Reflections: Ashley Canterbury

My experience in journalism. It made high school actually survivable. I have made friends through it all: Journalism, Newspaper, and Yearbook. Having Newspaper last block everyday put a smile on my face and great talks with friends.

I met Doug Stroms in our I.P.C. class sophomore year. We became friends soon after class stared and became best friends through journalism. He surprises me in every way. Doug has walked to my house in the rain while bringing me chocolate cake just to console me. We have had a sticky note war and found a common love through Grey’s Anatomy. I love him for everything he does for me. Hopefully we have made a strong enough bond for our friendship to last a lifetime. Doug is and always will be my sweetie pea.

Then I have the newspaper gals. The five of us met through a summer journalism workshop. We have had our drama and falling outs. I’m sorry for it. But I love you all still.

Allex- You’re crazy! I love all the times we’ve shared and our adventure to Starbucks. I’ll miss you but you are going to have an awesome senior year.

Rosanne- I love how we have become so close recently. I’m glad we were able to share prom together, I’ll remember it for the rest of my life. I can’t wait for the many more memories to come.

Jamila- Thank you for always asking about my life and listening. You have no idea how much I appreciate it. I’m sorry for all the issues with us. We are both at a loss.

Lacie- I wish you would have continued with journalism because I miss seeing you. You are a great friend and ill remember all the fun times we have shared through out the years.

I met Uzma sophomore year in Dance class. We hit it off right away. I even made her join french club and she wasn’t taking the class. I found out senior year that she had joined Journalism and then proceeding into Yearbook. We have become so close and that would have only happen through Journalism. I love you Uzma, we will have an amazing friendship for years to come.

Newspaper wouldn’t have been the same without Mallett. He makes everything fun and exciting. Thank you Mallett for everything you have done throughout the years, I greatly appreciate it. You are and always will be my favorite teacher.
