Legacy’’s projected student growth for 2010 was 2,500, however because of the housing market, the population only grew 3% from 2009.
The student body has increased from about 2,100 students to 2,278 students.
“The growth does not effect the way we go about doing our jobs,” Mr. Wright said. “There is really not that many more students.”
The district did not give Legacy any growth positions to fill, only replacement teachers were hired. Wright believes there will be no significant difference in the school population until our student body reaches a certain amount.
“When we reach around 2,500 students, then you will see a good amount of new teachers and APs,” Wright said.
The more crowded lunches have been because of the new Ben Barber schedule and the change in lunch periods not population growth.
