On April 11, at Trinity High School, choir won a sweepstakes at thier regional competition.
“It was a good experience,” junior Marcus Robinson said. “We were really excited since the music is harder now that we are 5A.”
The choir significantly downgraded in size this year. In fact, they were among the smallest choirs competing.
“[Our size] helped us because we sounded cleaner and crisper than last year,” Robinson said.
For the first time, the choir met for weekend rehearsals to prepare for the competition.
“Weekend rehearsals helped us a lot this year,” senior Shalee Minard said. “I feel really awesome about how far we have come.”
All three choirs won sweepstakes for the first time, making Legacy history.
“I wasn’t very surprised, but from where we were in August, there was a major improvement,” Robinson said. “We felt confident after we finished performing that we got all ones.”
