To reduce congestion at Mansfield ISD’s RL Anderson Stadium for Legacy Football’s big matchup against Summit, shuttles will be offered to fans for transportation to and from the venue. The game, scheduled for Friday, September 25 is expected to draw a large crowd which may further limit the parking at the already small-in-comparison parking lot at RL Anderson Stadium.
“[At the last game there] I was driving up and down the parking lot and there was no where to park,” Senior Marcy Crouch said. “I was super frustrated. The shuttle is a good idea.”
Fans may be picked up by the shuttle at Legacy’s parking lot located near the softball fields, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Passengers will be dropped off at The Phoenix Academy, formerly known as ACE. Passengers may then walk across Broad Street to the game. Shuttles will run for 30 minutes following the end of the game to return passengers to their respective campuses.
Mansfield’s City Hall and Municipal Courthouse will serve as overflow parking for the game.
“[The shuttle] will take up less parking and will make it cheaper for the students to get to the game,” Crouch said. “It’ll make things easier.”
