The JROTC competed in the Top Of Texas JROTC competition at Wichita Falls on October 3 and placed first in all categories, including armed overall, unarmed overall, and color guard overall, bringing home 10 respective trophies.
“To be where we are right now, it takes a lot,” senior Caelan Rios said. “But we enjoy doing it.”
This followed the Billy D. Ryan Drill Meet in Denton on September 26 in which the JROTC won 4 first place trophies.
“I go home and I practice spinning, and do the best that I can at practice no matter what,” Michael Butler, 10, said. “I put forth 110% effort.”
This brings the total number of JROTC trophies brought home this year to 14.
“I couldn’t be anything less than proud,” Sergeant First Class James Watkins said.
