New Releases: Microsoft vs. Apple

Technology has been interesting this week with the release of Windows 7 tomorrow and Apple releasing the Magic Mouse today. These two competing companies of the tech world are always trying to revolutionize the products they create.

Windows 7 Microsoft’s newest operating system is released to the world tomorrow, but I’ve been running the release candidate since the summer, so I’ll tell you what features I like. Windows 7 is the successor to Windows Vista which has received bad reviews from journalists around the tech-sphere. Windows 7 is here and it is ready to take computers hard drives by storm. Windows 7 is the most aesthetically pleasing operating system that Microsoft has ever produced; it has some of the coolest features. One of the features is the way windows can now be maximized by just dragging the window to the top of the screen. A screen can be resized to take up half of the screen if it is dragged to the left or right side of the screen. Another feature that I use that carried over from Vista is hitting the start key and just typing, this searches the entire computer for applications or documents. The overall look of Windows 7 is something that I enjoy and can not wait for more computers to have, especially the district computers.

Now for the Magic Mouse, Apple announced its best designed mouse to date less than 24 hours ago. It is the first desktop multi-touch mouse; all it takes to click a link is just a tap to the surface of the mouse. Scrolling can just be done by moving the finger around the surface on web pages or zoomed in photos. Apple has revolutionized the computer, mp3 player, smart phone, and now the mouse; Apple changes the way consumers use products.

I’ll be back soon with more news coming out of the tech world. Any questions about tech I will try to answer just leave them in the comments.

I love vista personally. i havent had any problems with it despite what everyone said. as for the Magic Mouse, there is a product called Bamboo that does the exact same thing and is most likely cheaper. the pad is also bigger and you have your own sections for scrolling. the only downside is that is requires a special pen, and if you lose it, you cant use your finger =( i have had to replace the pen twice.

Tomorrow come the free upgrade :] I couldn’t be more thrilled. Vista’s ok but from what I’ve heard windows 7 is gonna blow it away. As for this magic mouse craziness. Cool. But, really. It’s hard for me to respect apple. I’m a microsoft guy. The Zune. Windows. 360. They’ve never done me wrong. Anyway- like I said, can’t wait!

Haha, I saw a new comment on the front page from Nick that read, “Shut up Clarke Rahrig. Shut. Up.” and I could’ve sworn it was in response to this blog! Muahaha.

Oh how we love each other.

AS FOR your actual blog though, I surprisingly enjoyed it! Did I say surprisingly? My bad. I just feel like I didn’t learn ENOUGH about Windows 7, just that it can do cool things with window sizes.
