Kindling My Love For Reading

I like to call myself an avid reader. One of my favorite things to do is go to the bookstore and search for my new favorite read. However, I’ve gotten a lot busier this year which means I haven’t necessarily had the time to make the trip into Arlington to Borders or Barnes and Noble. I was trying everything possible to find books the lazy way. It took too long to get them if I had bought them online and when I bought them on my iTouch, the text was too small for me to read comfortably.

My mom got the idea from a friend to buy me an Amazon Kindle. The Amazon Kindle is an e-book with a whole lot more to offer. The one I got is the third generation Kindle. The third generation Kindle has Wi-Fi and 3G Internet using Amazon Whispernet which has no additional fees. There is an experimental option on the menu which takes you to a section in the Kindle with things that are still being tweaked. One of the things is an Internet browser. This is one of the parts of my Kindle I love. I can just get on the Internet anywhere and at anytime. Another of the experimental components on the Kindle is an MP3 player. I haven’t got the chance to try this one out, however I am so excited for the day that I can listen to my Kid Cudi or Jason Aldean while I read my books.

If I could add anything to the Kindle, I would add a notepad or some kind of word processor. My teacher for my dual credit college course will let us take notes with any way that is easiest for us, and on my Kindle would be the perfect way. So far, I really like this new e-book. I’m excited to begin using it in my classes to see how it can improve my schoolwork. It’s really crazy for me to think about what could come next. But it’s an understatement to say I’m just anxious.

Yeah, a friend of mine got one for Christmas this year, I was super jealous. But, as much as I love the concept of a multi-tasking E-Book, I still really love reading in the bath. I also love the was a book smells like old paper and I love flipping the pages. Plus, regular old books are much less likely to be stolen.
