Meeting Famous People

I hate being late. I knew from the moment we left my house that Dini and I should have left earlier. I was really worried because I had been given this really neat opportunity and was going to ruin the chance to meet Zach, Cameron, Nathan and Michael; the members of Allstar Weekend.

Fortunately, we arrived with just enough time to meet with the other high schoolers who were offered the same opportunity to meet the band. After being led into the dimly lit room where Cameron, the bassist, greeted with a hand shake. I was very surprised that a guy in his twenties would be sweet as he was especially since the other band members were already seated in the room.

At this time, Dini and I along with the other students were able to take pictures and interview the band members. People asked questions such as how they got their band name to when their next tour will be. When it was our turn to interview, Dini decided to let me ask the allowed two questions since she was busy filming. I was nervous because I thought I would ask a question that was already answered. Thankfully, when my turn came I didn’t stumble over my words terribly, avoiding an awkward moment in front of four people I found very attractive.

After Dini and I were done interviewing we walked back into the venue right as the first opening band, The Action Item, had started playing. I had never heard of any of the openers before, but they were all pretty decent. While the bands were playing, Dini and I were trying to come up with a plan to get to the front of the crowd. At this point we were in the very back and decided to dance our way through the crowd. By the third opener we had made are way to front of the stage in perfect time to witness Allstar Weekend appear on stage.

Overall their concert was very entertaining and kept my attention. The lead singer Zach didn’t miss a note and they seemed very comfortable on stage. The band played all the songs from their only album “Suddenly Yours” along with two new songs and covers.

My favorite performance of the night was when they played a mash up of and acoustic version of their song “Journey To The End Of My Life” and Drake’s song “Forever.” I thought it was such an interesting mash up but I think they made it work. The moment from the concert that I will always remember is when Zach pointed at Dini and I, even though he had done the same thing many times throughout the whole night it was special to us. Allstar Weekend’s concert will be something that I will always remember.

I am a pretty crazy person. I talk way too much and annoy everyone, but I guess my friends don’t mind! I laugh at pretty much anything anyone says or does. I am the person that laughs when I get in trouble (my parents are not really a fan of that). I always have a piece of gum handy, I am seriously addicted. Dancing has taken up every free second of my life since I was three, and I would not have it any other way. [email protected]
