Humble Bundle- Good For Gaming

Humble Bundle- Good For Gaming

Ever since the 1960’s, gaming on the computer has been important and influential to computer use everywhere. From games a simple as Tetris to complex games like The Elder Scrolls or the Call of Duty series, computer gaming has entertained and affected millions. In 2010, a new influence on this culture was organized and launched for the first time.

The Humble Indie Bundle was a gaming bundle for PC, Mac and Linux operating systems (OSs) that was released on May 4, 2010. This bundle pulled games from several developers and gave the consumer the ability to choose how much they would pay. Including the games World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru, Penumbra: Overture and Samorost 2, this bundle allowed the buyer to divide how much of their purchase would go to the charities, the developers of the individual games and the bundle program itself. By the end of the bundle on May 11, 2010, about $1,270,000 was raised, 31 percent of which was given to the charities Child’s Play and the Electronic Frontier Foundation.

Several bundles have been released since then, featuring many different gaming studios. The bundles have also featured an incentive to pay above the average amount. In some bundles, the only way to get some of the games is to pay above the average price. The bundles also tend to add extra games a few days after the bundle is released to give gamers more for their money. These bundles offer a great opportunity for the developers, charities and gamers.

Anyone who ever finds themselves without anything to do or just enjoy playing new and interesting games should give this program a look. This bundle provides hours of entertainment for whatever price the buyer is willing to pay. Including compatibility with the digital distribution software Steam, the bundle provides a convenient way for gamers to have an enjoyable experience with their computers.

The most recent bundle was The Humble Bundle for Android, the ninth bundle released by Humble Bundle. Boasting the games EDGE, Osmos, Anomaly and World of Goo, the bundle was compatible with PC, Mac and Linux OSs, as well as devices with Android OSs. Casual and hardcore gamers alike should keep their eyes out for this bundle program in the future.
