Bruce “The Boss” Springsteen is at it again with his latest release, “Wrecking Ball.” His 17th studio album is just that, a wrecking ball; a force to be reckoned with. With all of the elements one could expect from a Springsteen album, including the famous E Street Band and the late Clarence Clemons, “Wrecking Ball” is a socially relevant record with strong patriotic themes.

The first single, “We Take Care of Our Own,” contains a poignant statement about Springsteen’s disillusionment with the lack of solidarity within communities following years of financial hardship. The chorus lightens the mood, imparting Springsteen’s faith that people, “take care of their own.”The rest of the songs on the album share similar social themes without being overly repetitious. The musical style changes from song to song; from full gospel choirs to Irish-tinged powerhouses.

“Wrecking Ball” has been well received by fans and critics alike, and not without reason. “Wrecking Ball” is a powerful album with few slow moments and permeating messages of nationalism. At the end of the day, it’s an amazing album with real music by real musicians. I absolutely recommend this to anyone who likes music.
