Conspiracy Theories Revealed

Anna Jordan & Lexi Ellis explain the worlds most famous conspiracy theories.
Anna Jordan & Lexi Ellis explain the world’s most famous conspiracy theories.

In our technologically advanced society of communication, messages and ideas can spread quite rapidly, especially the outlandish ones. Conspiracy theories/theorists can be taken skeptically, seriously, as jokes or as a form of pure entertainment. It all depends on how you view it.

Faked Moon Landings
With the 20th century’s technological developments, Russia became the first country to send a man into space. Getting to the moon was the next goal. It was Russia versus the US, Cold War rivals, in the race for the moon. Wanting to defeat Russia in a blaze of glory, Americans either rapidly developed superior technology or used a realistic movie set.

If the moon landing were real, wouldn’t NASA release the information and the video of the actual event?

In many of the variations on the theory, the flag flowing in the wind stands out the most. In outer space, there would be no wind. It could be just as possible to say that the moon landing was actually filmed on a set in Hollywood.

The Titanic Sinking was Planned
The Titanic was not an accident. In fact, the whole thing was planned. Fourteen years before the tragic “accident” happened, a book was published that matched the crash to the very last detail. Also, JP Morgan, the man who funded the Titanic, had a ticket for the ship but at the last second decided not to board.

Bigfoot
As one of the most popular urban legends, Bigfoot is characterized by his large frame, hairy limbs and of course, his big feet. It could be possible that a species of bigfeet exist. Instead of there being only one legendary bigfoot, there could be many similar elusive creatures of the same breed lurking in the forests of North America or other regions. The sasquatch could be like any other animal, only officially undiscovered.

Dragons
If dinosaurs went extinct, perhaps dragons experienced a similar fate.

Scientists’ proof of dinosaurs relies primarily on piecing fossils back together. Maybe pterodactyls possessed the ability to breathe fire. Perhaps the T-rex had a slender frame and wings.

Decomposure could also have affected the way scientists assembled a bone structure for the dinosaurs. New creatures, bones and fossils are discovered all the time. The dragons could be even more ancient than dinosaurs causing their bones to be hidden deep within the earth beyond our reach or completely decomposed by now.

The Loch Ness Monster
Lake Loch Ness in Scotland has plenty of space for large, dinosaur-like aquatic creatures being 22 miles long, about 1.5 miles wide and over 70 feet deep. Also, Loch Ness lake never freezes over and is fed by seven major rivers.

Remains that supposedly belong to Nessie were found washed up in June 2016. If Nesie did exist, then she could belong to a kind of freshwater species, perhaps extinct or endangered such as the one spotted in Alaska.

Less than five percent of the ocean has been explored by humans. Maybe the same could be said for Nessie (even though she supposedly resides in an especially large lake).

Hollow Earth Theory
Edmund Halley originally proposed the theory of a four-layered earth with each layer inhabiting life. Leonhard Euler later revised this, saying that the hollow Earth contains a central sun and an advanced civilization called Agartha. Others have built on this theory. Some claiming extinct animals dwell inside of the earth or that the entrances to the inside of the earth sit at the north and South poles.

To make this even more insane, some believe that Hitler and the Nazi’s escaped to the hollow center of the earth during the end of WWII. Maybe this was J. R. R. Tolkien’s inspiration for ‘middle earth’ and all its magical creatures.

Phantom Time Hypothesis
All that we know about history comes from the careful study of letters and artifacts. Heribert Illig claims the middle ages were entirely made up putting us in the year 1719, not 2016. The scariest part? It could very well be possible; his extensive evidence has some merit.

The Roman emperor Otto III supposedly invented the historical figure Charlemagne to create 300 years of history. This way, his rule would be set in the year 1000.

Emperor Constantine VII is also hypothesized to have rewritten the history of the Byzantine empire completely.

Also, the switch from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar could account for some of Illig’s supposed missing time.

Maybe we really do live in the year 1719, or any other year. With falsified historical documents, it’s nearly impossible to tell.

Akashic field
Ervin Laszlo’s theory states that a field of energy containing all of the information in or about the universe is collectively accessed by all humans and makes up consciousness.

The theory for his book is based on complex mathematics and the Zero Point Field. In physics, the Zero Point Field is an unknown field that contains an undefinable energy. Laszlo claims this to be the Akashic field, aka the basis of human consciousness.

This Man
Proved to be a hoax in 2009 and then labeled as a meme, This Man was supposedly seen in over 2000 people’s dreams all across the globe and was theorized to have been connected to the dreams via the Akashic field. Though it was a hoax created by Andrea Natella, it can still be considered a psychological phenomenon. Ghost House Pictures, the same people who produced The Grudge horror movies, found This Man so popular and intriguing that they decided to make it into a movie, which is still in production according to IMDB.
