Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark
Famous archeologist Indiana Jones, played by Harrison Ford, needs to find a way around the Nazis as they search for the Ark of the Covenant, while working for the U.S. government. He works to complete his mission, making sure the Nazis don’t get access to the power the ark holds.
“Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark” falls under the category of ‘classic’ because it gives a sense of adventure and the old times before technological advancements were really a thing, creating a sense of nostalgia when you watch the movies.
Gladiator
Russell Crowe. When Maximus is forced to become a Gladiator after being betrayed and having his family killed, he plans for vengeance against the emperor.
“Gladiator” is the type of movie you can watch over and over again and never get tired of it. The action and emotion that this movie provides is surreal, and it’s extremely hard to recreate such an experience today.
Secondhand Lions
“Secondhand Lions” follows the life of Walter, played by Hayley Joel Osment. Walter’s mother, Mae – played by Kyra Sedgwick – sends him to live with his two mysterious uncles, Hub and Garth, for the summer while she is away husband-hunting. Mae wants Walter to gain the trust of Hub and Garth – played by Robert Duvall and Michael Caine – so he can be the successor of their so-called fortune.
A must watch for people wanting to experience thrilling stories, “Secondhand Lions” keeps the audience laughing and hooked with its humor and plot. Watching Walter grow his relationship with his uncles is a sweet experience to see on screen.
The Princess Bride
The movie starts with a bedridden young boy being visited by his grandfather, who brings a book called “The Princess Bride.” The grandfather reads his grandson the story of Buttercup and Westly, played by Robin Wright and Cary Elwes. As Wesly, the farm-boy turned pirate, reconnects with his young love Buttercup, they overcome many obstacles together, gaining allies and enemies along the way.
“The Princess Bride” gives the audience the perfect damsel in distress mixed with the handsome long-lost lover. “The Princess Bride” will always hold a special place in the classic movies list because no one can beat the comedic relief this movie gives the audience.
The Mummy
A group of archeologists including Rick O’Connell, Evelyn Carnahan and Jonathan Carnahan – played by Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz and John Hannah – as they travel to Hamunaptra, the City of the Dead, they stumble upon ancient Egyptian tombs. In doing so, Evelyn accidentally awakens a dangerous 3,000-year-old Egyptian priest, Imhotep – played by Arnold Vosloo – and now they have to figure out a way to get rid of Imhotep before he reincarnates his lover and wreaks havoc on the world.
“The Mummy”, an action-packed movie, filled with adventure and romance that keeps all watchers entertained. “The Mummy” deserves a spot on the classic movies list because it captures the audience and leaves them wanting more.
