“Stranger Things,” beginning in 2016, offers a world of science fiction entertainment to viewers. Telekinetic powers, multi-dimensional worlds, grotesque creatures and the best of all, the 1980s aesthetic. The show takes place in a small town called Hawkins, Indiana, and spotlights children and high schoolers as the main characters. At the beginning of the show, these characters meet Eleven, a girl who gained telekinetic powers from the Hawkins Laboratory and escaped. Throughout the show, the party experiences odd occurrences that cause them to investigate the many dimensions that exist in the universe, including the Upside Down, the Abyss and Vecna’s Lair. Overall, “Stranger Things” remains a stand-out show compared to others and will stay a fan favorite for years to come.
Max Mayfield
Max Mayfield, played by Sadie Sink, receives the reputation of being the cool girl who skateboards; she remains more than just a zoomer. Not only did she survive Vecna’s repeated attacks, but she also faced multiple adversities throughout the show, including the death of her stepbrother, Billy. Max survived the dimension of Camazotz for almost two years and helped fellow victims of Vecna escape successfully, including Holly Wheeler.
Eleven Hopper
Having telekinetic powers and taking down Vecna inside the Mind Flayer, Eleven remains one of the most vital characters to the plot of Stranger Things. Played by Millie Bobby Brown, Eleven remains an extremely powerful character and grows as a person as she meets her best friends and encounters unforgettable experiences.
Steve Harrington
Who does not like Steve “The Hair” Harrington? From being the King of Hawkins High to being the babysitter of six little nuggets, Steve faced one of the largest character developments in the show. In the first season, Steve hung out with a bunch of bullies, but by the fifth season, he fights dangerous creatures in the Upside Down with his party. Played by Joe Keery, his heroic character and hilarious personality make Steve Harrington a fan favorite.
Dustin Henderson
From being the secretary of Hawkins Middle A.V. Club to valedictorian of Hawkins High, Dustin Henderson consistently created scientific plans to save the world. Dustin remains an adorable character, loved by fans thanks to his humorous and quirky personality. Dustin, played by Gaten Matarazzo, is one of the smartest characters in Stranger Things and stays ready to fight for who he loves most, his friends.
Nancy Wheeler
Nancy Wheeler, played by Natalia Dyer, presents an amazing example of independence. Nancy faced adversity in the show after feeling guilty of the death of her best friend, Barb, and even dealing with trauma from the horrific experiences she endured. From being rejected at the Hawkins Post to taking on the Mind Flayer in the Abyss alone, Nancy Wheeler shows people how to truly be strong, even when they do not expect you to be.
Will Byers
Stranger Things would not be the show it is today without Will the Wise, played by Noah Schnapp. Not only did Will Byers survive being in the Upside Down world for an entire week at twelve years old, but Will also became a sorcerer in season five and helped to defeat Vecna once and for all. Will underwent one of the largest character transformations in the show, ultimately accepting who he truly was as a person.
Jim Hopper
Jim Hopper went through various transformations throughout the seasons of Stranger Things, including from Hawkins Chief Police to a prisoner of the 1980s Russian government. Hopper endured various hardships, including losing his first daughter, Sarah Hopper, to a vicious case of cancer and even surviving a brutal Soviet prison camp for six months. Played by David Harbour, Jim Hopper remains one of the most important protectors of the party and an admirable father to Eleven.

Awesome article! I agree with the listing! I would add Eddie as an honorable mention! Although he was only in there for 1 season!
