Top 10 Places to Eat

Top 10 Places to Eat

Tired of the same ol’ chain food places? Try some of the local restaurants.

Pho 95
Pho 95 is a Vietnamese restaurant on Cooper that specializes in Pho’ and noodle dishes. Pho is Vietnamese soup with noodles and meat. Vietnamese have awesome coffee and pastries with noodles. It goes together really well and there is a ton of food for a decent price. They also own a less-Asian bakery/sports bar down the street called BFF which is surprisingly good.

Oliver’s Fine Foods
Oliver’s is a deli across from Methodist Hospital that sells all types of meat, but they also have an awesome lunch menu. It’s really casual, but it’s a great place to grab a sandwich or wrap. It’s kind of expensive for a lunch, but the taste is amazing.

Istanbul Grill
This is a Turkish restaurant that has amazing Gyros and Baklava. The owner’s name is Sam, and he and his wife are insanely nice and welcoming. They have belly dancers on certain nights after 7 p.m., so definitely get an early dinner in on this one.

Myrtle’s Burgers
Myrtle’s is a little white and green shack on 1187 that sells delicious burgers. You walk up to it and they just have one or two benches. You can get tots, burgers, ribbon fries, onion rings, and more. They aren’t open on weekends, so make sure you go by some time during the week to try it out.

Our Place
Our Place has really good breakfast food at great prices. The whole place feels like it could be summed up with the words “Southern Hospitality.” The servers make you feel at home, and it’s a good place to eat if you’re coming off a rough night.

Blue Heaven
Blue Heaven is awesome not only because of their frozen yogurt, but they have a lot of employees who go to Legacy. They also participate in a lot of Legacy fundraisers, so it’s good to go support them.

La Gondola
This is a family-owned Italian restaurant that is a bit on the pricey side, but the inside is very well put together. They take their time with making sure that the food is good and the vibe is comfortable.

Suzushii Sushi and Grill
This place has awesome sushi and is also family owned. It’s a pretty small restaurant, but they really know what they’re doing. If you aren’t into the whole raw fish thing, they have bento boxes with cooked items, or cooked rolls.

Big D Barbecue
Big D Barbecue is on Walnut Creek and really focuses on the quality of the barbecue that they put out. It’s a simple concept of nice people and nicer food, and they execute that very well.

Steven’s Garden and Grill
Mansfield’s best kept secret. In the old barn atmosphere you’ll find good food, really good barbeque, great live music in the summer and the baked potato casserole will change your life. Be sure to get dessert too.
